Supporting Education Responsibly, through Visionary Innovative Cooperative Efforts

Welcome To Our Center!

We are a Michigan Career Technical Education Center serving 11th and 12th grade students from area high schools. Students attend a 1/2-day session, either a.m. or p.m., to pursue specific career interests by developing job-specific skills. All credits earned apply toward high school graduation and often college credit is obtained as well. Personal counseling, employability skills, and job placement services are provided to students.

Persons of all ages in the Newaygo County area will have ready access to high-quality career and technical education, which is realistic in light of actual or anticipated opportunities for higher education and/or gainful employment and is consistent with the learners needs, interests, and abilities.

Congratulations to Students of the Auto Program at the CTC and Dan Ward, Instructor!

Dan Ward spent last Saturday with four talented students at an automotive competition at Ferris State University. They walked away with a first place finish that earned them a plaque, tools and a new addition to Mr. Ward’s room: a beautiful yellow Mustang convertible to work on in the classroom.  Congratulations to our 2009 SkillsUSA Michigan Design Contest Winners!

CONGRATULATIONS to Mr. Clink and his Graphics Communications students for a big win in the design contest! The CTC is a member of the SkillsUSA organization. Each SkillsUSA member from across the state has the opportunity to submit a design idea for SkillsUSA Michigan. The designs are used for the cover of the SkillsUSA Michigan Convention and Skill Event weekend competition, the National T-Shirt design for the state skill event winners and the national event lapel pin for participants of the week long National Convention.

Our students created and refined their designs over several weeks. They did research, idea generation and eventually created unique designs using the computer and professional design software. The printed designs were sent to the state office and judged by SkillsUSA student officers. Of the 53 entries submitted NCCTC students won all three areas!

Congratulations to the winners!
