Newaygo County Common School Calendar
Michigan Law (Public Act 101 of 2007) requires that by July 1, 2008, Newaygo County Regional Educational Service Agency must establish a common school calendar for use by its constituent districts and the NC RESA.
The “common calendar”:
- Establishes the winter and spring breaks when school will not be in session;
- Sets those two breaks for the next five years; and,
- Begins with the 2008-2009 school year.
With input from the local district superintendents, employee and referent groups a common calendar was established. In addition to setting the required breaks, recommendations were also made regarding professional development (non-student) days, and midwinter break. Based on individual needs, local districts may add additional non-work days to the calendar. Newaygo County Common School Calendar:
