    Substitute Teaching in Newaygo County


    The public school districts in Newaygo County utilize the services of EDUStaff/Frontline to employ and assign substitute teachers, and in some districts, substitute teacher aides/paraprofessionals. If you are interested in being a substitute teacher/paraprofessional in Newaygo County, please visit www.edustaff.org, click on "Start Application" and follow the on-line application process.

    Representatives from EDUStaff will be at the Educational Service Center for substitutes to drop off their forms and complete the application process.  These are two-hour meetings to finalize the application process and complete some training requirements.  All meetings will take place from 2-4 p.m. at the Educational Service Center, 4747 W. 48th Street, Fremont, in the Guardsman Classroom (room #144).

    Qualifications:
    • Shall have a minimum of an Associate’s Degree or higher, Bachelor’s degree preferred.

    Essential Functions:
     Essential duties shall include, but are not limited to:
    • Coordinate the ECNC student registration process and participate in interviews for new students.
    • Co-facilitate cohort meetings and assist in soft-skills curriculum development/refinement.
    • Serve as the liaison and lead for MEMCA Certification (acquire accurate information, maintain documentation, provide local districts with the necessary information for students to legally acquire certification).
    • Mentor students, as needed.
    • Maintain an accurate/updated timeline of yearly events for the team(s) to reference.
    • Coordinate services with post-secondary personnel.
    • Maintain ongoing communication with supervisor, high school administrators and staff, parents, and post-secondary personnel.
    • Maintain ECNC and Promise Zone student data for program evaluation and reporting.
    • Support career and college access event planning and promotion.
    • Coordinate all meeting and planning logistics.
    • Design, create, and produce marketing materials including but not limited to brochures, newsletters, promotional materials, and informational articles.
    • Serve as a liaison at community and state-wide meetings and events (e.g. trainings, workshops, conferences, etc.).
    • Assist with mobilization of funds including but not limited to supporting grant applications and evaluations.
    • Assist with data collection and analysis. Create and maintain reports regarding activities and outcomes related to the shared goals, objectives, and metrics for WE CAN! Newaygo County, the Newaygo County Area Promise Zone, and the Early College Newaygo County program.
