    Substitute Teaching in Newaygo County


    The public school districts in Newaygo County utilize the services of EDUStaff/Frontline to employ and assign substitute teachers, and in some districts, substitute teacher aides/paraprofessionals. If you are interested in being a substitute teacher/paraprofessional in Newaygo County, please visit www.edustaff.org, click on "Start Application" and follow the on-line application process.

    Representatives from EDUStaff will be at the Educational Service Center for substitutes to drop off their forms and complete the application process.  These are stop and drop meetings...there is no need to schedule a specific time.  All meetings will take place from 2-4 p.m. at the Educational Service Center, 4747 W. 48th Street, Fremont, in the Landheer Classroom (room #145).

      The Pupil Membership Auditor shall perform a variety of responsibilities in accordance with all applicable local, state and federal procedures, laws or administrative rules with regard to pupil membership counts as required by the Michigan Department of Education.

     Essential duties shall include, but are not limited to:
      • Perform desk and field audits as stipulated in the Pupil Auditing Manual for the six (6) constituent local education agencies (LEA) and the NC RESA.
      • Enter changes resulting from audits in the Michigan Student Data System (MSDS) audit file in the Center for Educational Performance and Information (CEPI) system.
      • Submit audit narratives electronically to the Office of Audits.
      • Delivery of audit narratives to each LEA.
      • Complete confirmation reports as requested by financial auditors.
      • Prepare membership summaries for local and intermediate use.
      • Respond to various requests for memberships and membership comparisons.
      • Complete and submit Planned Hours of Instruction form and Actual Hours of Instruction form for the NC RESA.
      • Review Actual Hours of Instruction forms submitted by LEAs and submit to the MDE.
      • Serve as a resource person for all LEAs and the RESA in matters related to membership.
      • Conduct annual membership meetings for LEA and RESA office staff involved in reporting pupil membership.

    Salary Range: per the NCEA Master Agreement    
    Reports To: Lynette Hodges, Director of Special Education  
    Terms: per the NCEA Master Agreement; school to be held Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from June 18 through August 1 (off the week of July 4th); 8-11:30 a.m.; training dates June 13 & 14    
    Qualifications:
    • Valid Michigan teaching certificate.
    • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
    • Three years of experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
    • Extensive knowledge of current trends, supports and issues in Autism Spectrum Disorder.
    • Possession of solid organization and planning skills.
    • Ability to work as a member of a team.
    • Existing relationships with students and families served preferred.
     Essential Functions:
     
    • Assess students' educational needs.
    • Participate as a member of the multi-disciplinary evaluation team to assist in the assessment of the educational needs of persons suspected of having Autism Spectrum Disorder.
    • Assist in the development of an educational program which can be used in the summer program, school building and community, as appropriate.
    • Complete and present a written evaluation report to parents/guardians.
    • Assist in the development of goals and objectives and maintain a record of student progress.
    • Keep apprised of new materials and methods of instruction, and provide academic support and modification of instructional materials for classroom teachers and students.
    • Work and communicate effectively with teachers, classroom staff, principals, family members and other support services personnel.
    • Work with other area professionals and educators to facilitate the effective integration of ASD students into educational and community environments.
    • Inititate and maintain regular contact with parents regarding student progress, program activities, and available community resources.
    • Establish and maintain appropriate records, reports, forms, and procedures.
    • Act as a resource, if needed, to employees, students and the general public visiting the NC RESA.
    • Possess knowledge of NC RESA's organization, mission, and philosophy.
    • Perform other duties deemed appropriate by the Director of Special Education.
