Newaygo County RESA and the local public school districts utilize the services of EDUStaff/Red Rover to employ and assign substitute teachers, and in some districts, substitute teacher aides/paraprofessionals. If you are interested in being a substitute teacher/paraprofessional/aide in Newaygo County, please visit www.edustaff.org, click on "Start Application" and follow the online application process.
If you are interested in being a substitute teacher aide in the preschool program, in additional to the EDUStaff application, please contact the HR Department at 231-924-8853 for additional instructions.
Part of the application process includes attending a meeting/training session. All meetings will be held from 2-4 p.m. The schedule for in-person sessions for the 2022-23 school year will be:

Substitute Positions

Substitute Paraprofessionals $11.52/hour
Substitute Aides $11.25/hour
Reports To: Individual Building Administrators Terms: On call substitute Qualifications: Substitute Teachers: Candidates must have at least 60 semester hours of satisfactory credit (grade ‘C’ or better) combined from one or more regionally accredited two- or four-year colleges or universities.
Substitute Paraprofessionals and Aides: Candidates must have a high school diploma.
Essential Functions: Substitute Teachers: Follow teacher lesson plans to educate students in the teacher's absence.
Substitute Paraprofessionals/Aides: Assist teacher in daily activities.
