contracted service position

approximately 10-15 hours/week

  • Minimum of a CDA or Associate’s Degree preferred
  • Experience working in a childcare setting (home or center).
  • Knowledgeable of LARA licensing regulations and Great Start to Quality Rating System.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Self-sufficient and require a minimum of supervision or assistance to aid in job duties.
  • Able to use technology, including Microsoft Office and social media.
  • Must possess a growth mindset.
  • Physically capable of performing the necessary job duties.
  • Able to work as a member of a team and contribute to the agency vision and goals.
  • Positive leadership skills and able to take initiative.
  • Must complete and pass required criminal history check.
Essential Functions:
  • Work collaboratively with Great Start Coordinator, grant leadership team and Great Start to Quality staff to ensure grant requirements are achieved.
  • Attend monthly grant planning meetings with leadership team.
  • Communicate regularly (phone, email) with Newaygo County childcare providers regarding available grant opportunities and supports.
  • Support current and prospective childcare providers through application processes and connect them to Great Start to Quality staff and LARA for further supports.
  • Maintain excellent records of communications, applications, and distribution of funds.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with supervisor to ensure successful support for all grant activities and evaluations.
  • Assist with records of fund distribution for providers participating in grant supports
  • Assist with managing lending library of materials for childcare providers
  • Ability to maintain a flexible schedule in order to support childcare providers at times that are convenient for them.
  • Work with supervisor to complete monthly reports and quarterly evaluations.
  • Act as a resource, if needed, to employees, students and the general public visiting the NC RESA.
  • Possess knowledge of NC RESA's organization, mission, and philosophy.
  • Perform other duties deemed appropriate by the Instructional Facilitator.
