The Great Start Family Coalition hosted a Halloween Walk last week. Twenty community partners joined the fun providing information and treats to approximately 700 people. Everyone did a great job dressing up for the holiday event. The families also received free books and engaged in a story walk (Room on the Broom) before heading home. What an awesome team!

On October 26, more than 30 pregnant and new mothers (and their guests) attended the Great Start Baby Shower at the Fremont Rec Center. The Great Start Family Coalition and the FISH hubs hosted the event that included a Safe Sleep demonstration by Sara Loss. Attendees also learned about programs from community partners such as car seat safety, baby pantry, early literacy, home visiting, childcare support, breastfeeding, and connecting to community services. Along with delicious hors d'oeuvres, there were drawings and games with fantastic prizes. Mothers also left with a personalized gift bag for their little ones.

🎃 Our Pathfinder SXI team recently created an exciting multisensory learning experience with an Exploding Pumpkin Experiment! Students engaged with all their senses—hearing the fizz, feeling the textures, smelling the pumpkin, and seeing the colorful reaction. We incorporated adaptive equipment to ensure everyone could participate fully, blending sensory stimulation and communication tools for a fun and educational activity. It's all about making learning accessible and engaging for every student! #InclusiveEducation #MultisensoryLearning #AdaptiveEquipment #SXIExperience #STEMFun

We had such a great time partnering with the Building Bridges preschools (Grant, White Cloud, Newaygo, Hesperia, Fremont) for their Family Literacy Nights over the past 2 weeks. Families participated in a story walk, craft activities, and made a delicious snack. All children received free books and parents heard a short message on the importance of talking, reading, and singing with their children every day.

Maple, our school therapy dog, visited students at the NC RESA Building Bridges Neway Nature Preschool today. Maple greeted students as they got off the bus and had special visits with them in the library.
Students shared their love for Maple with lots of pets and fan mail! We can't wait to have Maple back again soon!
