Successful Building Bridges Preschool Open House!

Our preschool classrooms across the county opened their doors to welcome students and families for Open House! It was wonderful to see children exploring their new classrooms, meeting their teachers, and getting excited about all the learning, friendships, and fun ahead. 📚🧩🖍️

Open House is also an important opportunity to begin building strong connections between families, teachers, and schools. These partnerships help create a welcoming and supportive environment where every child can learn, grow, and thrive.

We are so excited to welcome our preschool families and students and look forward to an AMAZING year together! 🌟

Learning Together to Better Support Our Youngest Learners!

Our Early Childhood Department came together for a meaningful two day of Trauma-Informed Resilient Training through STARR Commonwealth Training, strengthening our understanding of trauma and how it can impact a child’s development, behavior, relationships, and ability to learn. 💛

Teachers, Teaching Assistants, Special Education Teachers, School Psychologists, Social Workers, Speech-Language Pathologists, and Early On Providers collaborated and learned together—building a shared understanding of how we can create safe, supportive, and responsive environments for young children.

Through trauma-informed practices, we can look beyond behavior, strengthen relationships, support social-emotional development, and help children feel safe, connected, and ready to learn. 🌱

We are grateful for a team that continues to invest in professional learning and work together to support the whole child and their family. When we learn together, we strengthen the systems of support surrounding every child! ❤️

ASQ Training: Supporting Children Early & Building Stronger Futures!

We had a successful ASQ Training with our GSRP preschool teachers in collaboration with our Early Childhood Special Education team!

Together, our teams learned more about using the Ages & Stages Questionnaires (ASQ) as a valuable tool to better understand children’s development, recognize strengths, identify potential areas of concern, and determine when additional support may be needed.

Early screening and identification matter! When we recognize children’s needs early, we can connect children and families with appropriate supports and interventions sooner—helping strengthen school readiness, social-emotional well-being, and future educational success.

Investing in early childhood helps us build a strong foundation that can contribute to:

🌱 Earlier identification and intervention
📚 Increased school readiness and academic success
💛 Stronger social-emotional skills and mental health supports
🤝 Stronger partnerships with children, families, and support teams
🎓 Improved opportunities for long-term school success and graduation

We are grateful for the opportunity to learn, collaborate, and share across programs as we continue building a stronger system of support for our youngest learners.

Because when we support children early, we aren't just preparing them for kindergarten—we're helping prepare them for a lifetime of learning and success! 💙
